I made this a while ago, but completely forgot about it. This is a royal text effect made purely in layer styles. To make it I followed a tutorial on PSD Tuts+, if you want to give it ago the link is here.

This is a really nice looking text effect and it is surprisingly easy to accomplish, I recommend you give it a go!
